About Sonzy and his love for “Desi” Food
Hi ! I started Sonzyskitchen.com way back in 1995 when Internet was new to India. I was taking some HTML classes when the Guru asked me to choose a theme for making my small website. I chose “Mom’s home-cooked food for bachelors abroad” where I chose to upload some of the choicest recipes by my Mom so that the students, singles who stayed outside India could use them to cook at home. It met with good success with no real profit motive behind. I just saw the idea take off and added more content every day. Though the website was getting good feedback and traffic, my work took over me and I never got time to update the site after 1999. Since then, the site has been there.
However, I have been very active in replying to all people who ask me questions about Indian food. I love Indian food, especially the frontier cuisine (Typical north-indian food from Punjab and Awadh). Someday, I aim to conduct Gourmet-Tours to Amritsar, my home town.
My real name is “Puneet Aggarwal” and I make my money trading in herbs and supplements. My cousin called me “Sonzy” and everybody knows me by that nick ever since.
Just recently, I have revamped this website into a blog which makes the content management easier. I hope you enjoy your time here. Happy Cooking !
